Equipment giant Technogym has introduced its new Excite line of fully-connected cardio kit that has now been fitted with the Technogym Live user interface.

Excite has been conceived around four key pillars – tailored training variety, connectivity, space-optimisation and sustainability. It will be marketed as a line that offers the "best ratio between floor footprint and training space".

For example, the new Excite Run treadmill has an new deck design, providing greater stability and 13 per cent more space for exercising, while occupying 30 per cent less floor space.

Meanwhile, the elliptical trainer, Excite Synchro, is marketed as offering the "longest stride in the industry" and has an adjustable ramp – from 5 to 33 degrees – offering users the option to train anything from flat jogs to uphill hikes.

The new equipment range has been designed to offer users a personalised training experience by connecting to a wide range of workout content and entertainment options offered by Technogym Live.

Technogym Live allows users to enjoy live and on-demand training video content on Technogym’s equipment consoles and through the Mywellness app, enhancing both the in-gym and at-home experience.

The open platform aggregates Technogym’s proprietary content and content created by fitness clubs, in order to offer end-user variety and personalisation.

Users are able to choose from a range content – trainer-led workouts, outdoor virtual training, training routines, exercises or entertainment contents – based on their personal preferences, from general fitness and group training to athletic training programmes and preventative health-oriented content.

In addition, Technogym also announced that Technogym Live is now available across the full range of Technogym products, as well as via new Mywellness App 5.0, studio virtual classes or digital devices.

The new Technogym Live console includes a content library of trainer-led Technogym Sessions – a new on-demand selection of one-to-one workouts available across all cardio products. The sessions are organised in series' of six, each with a specific goal, such as weight-loss or stamina building.

The console also offers entertainment options including TV, social media, Netflix and a range of gaming and news-based apps.

The library currently includes videos in three languages – English, Italian and Spanish – with new languages being added in the near future.

A new Technogym Coach – which uses AI – will personalise the end-user experience and manage users' data and guide them, day by day, suggesting different training options based on their personal requirements.

“Over the last 35 years, innovation has been a key priority for Technogym to make the entire fitness and wellness industry grow," said Nerio Alessandri, Technogym’s founder and CEO.

"Today, within our unique digital ecosystem, Technogym Live represents a key milestone of our innovation trajectory to offer end-users engagement, variety and personalisation.

“Thanks to its completely new user experience, Technogym Live will provide operators an innovative tool to innovate their business model and also offer their programmes and services to members also at home."
