Center Parcs’ Aqua Sana Forest Spa, Woburn Forest, UK, has transformed an unused space into a touchless wellness area called the Forest Serenity Suite, which will open on 22 May.

The space has been developed in response to the growing demand for emotional and physical wellbeing experiences and for guests who prefer not to undergo hands-on treatments.

Within the suite, there is a waiting area, a separate consultation space and six individual pods with privacy screens. Each pod features a Welnamis vibro-acoustic lounger manufactured by the Gharieni Group. These loungers use binaural beats in conjunction with synchronised vibrations designed to calm the nervous system.

Audio journeys for the Aqua Sana Forest Spa experiences have been developed by sound artist Justin Wiggan. He has used data such as light, wind and plant behaviour from the surrounding Woburn Forest and translated it into sound in a process known as biosonification. In addition to forest visuals projected onto the ceiling, aromatherapy by skincare brand Voya is said to create a sensory environment to support relaxation and nervous system regulation.

Laura Freeman, group spa manager, Aqua Sana Forest Spa, said: “Forest Serenity Suite reflects our commitment to continually evolving the guest experience. We know modern life can feel increasingly busy and overwhelming, so creating spaces where guests can truly switch off and recharge has never been more important.

“These touchless therapies offer a completely new and accessible way to experience relaxation and wellbeing, combining innovative technology with the calming power of our forest surroundings – one of our sessions delivers restorative relaxation said to be equivalent to up to four hours of deep sleep. This experience is uniquely us, by embracing our roots while looking to the future of wellness.”

The treatments last 22 minutes £30 (US$38, €35) and 60 minutes for £60 (US$76, €70) and are available to guests who are aged 14 and over. The therapies are not suitable for guests who are pregnant or for guests with thrombosis, epilepsy or with a heart device such as a pacemaker.
