Speedflex has introduced at-home workout machine Speedflex Blade. The product was launched with the support of former footballers Alan Shearer – who is also a co-founder of the company – and Dion Dublin.
The new system is designed to bridge the gap between gym floor workouts and personal training and is safe for users of any fitness level to use due to its isokinetic piston technology which ensures there is only ever a minimal load on joints. This also means different users can operate the equipment without needing to make any load adjustments.
“We’re excited to be introducing a new addition to the Speedflex family in the shape of the Speedflex Blade,” said Paul Ferris, CEO and co-founder.
“When conceptualising the new addition, it was important to us that the same accessibility associated with Speedflex workouts was offered through the Speedflex Blade. This way all members of the gym and household can use it to work out and train to their own optimum.”
To operate Speedflex Blade, users can choose their workout from over a hundred pre-programmed sessions. Touching the screen launches the programme, then after choosing duration, tempo and intensity the session can begin. The machine’s push-pull concept means users activate all muscles in one range of motion, however, because the exercises are concentric only, DOMS is minimised.
Speedflex was founded in 2011 by entrepreneur Graham Wylie CBE, CEO Paul Ferris and former Newcastle United player Alan Shearer. The original concept of a Speedflex session requires eight machines which can provide a group HIIT class for up to 16 people.
In a sponsored interview with HCM Ferris explained how Speedflex has grown since it first launched and why the system provides such an effective group concept for clubs. Speedflex currently has studios in London, Coulby Newham, Cork, Darlington, Dunfermline, Durham, Dallas, Dubai, Edinburgh, Reigate, Mansfield, Newcastle, Norwich and West Byfleet.
