Oura for Business has officially launched, providing staff with Oura Ring health insights and employers with a raft of services to support employees’ health and performance.
The platform aims to prevent burnout and fatigue, detect illness onset and optimise productivity, retention and health management.
The Finnish tech innovator has already piloted its business service with more than 200 commercial clients across business, healthcare, academic and military sectors, including NASA, Thrive Global, Red Bull Racing and the US Air Force, Navy and Army.
“Oura for Business fundamentally improves how organisations of all kinds can support their people,” said Tom Hale, CEO of Oura. “Helping individuals thrive is how we create success and positive outcomes for society as a whole. We’ve already seen significant traction with enterprise customers and are excited to continue growing these offerings as part of the next phase in Oura’s evolution.”
While the programme is custom-designed for each business, the foundations remain the same. They include Oura Ring metrics and app; administrator access to metrics at group level, including sleep, activity scores and readiness – which takes heart rate, heart rate variability and body temperature into account.
Events and seminars, as well as industry best practice and guidance for administrators on actions to take to improve employee wellbeing are also included.
This year has been one of change and growth at Oura. In April Tom Hale – previously at SurveyMonkey – was brought in as CEO, taking over from Harpreet Singh Rai. Only a few weeks earlier, the smart ring company was valued at US$2.55bn during a capital raise, shortly after reaching the milestone of one million ring sales.
The company has also partnered with Gucci, Strava, Natural Cycles and Therabody during 2022 and brought in new execs – Doug Sweeny as chief marketing officer, Lina Alcala as the company’s first chief people officer and Holly Shelton, who moved internally to become chief product officer.
In the next few months, Oura will release a new sleep algorithm following two years of research and development. Using vast datasets validated by the National University of Singapore, it claims to provide sleep tracking that is almost on par with a polysomnography (PSG) lab-grade sleep test.
