This new wearable is powered by motion and bodyheat

By
Baracoda has launched BHeart, a health-tracking wristband that can be worn as a bracelet or integrate with a standard watch
It uses patent-pending BMotion energy harvesting technology which charges from motion, body heat and environmental light
AIoT platform transforms data from health sensors into insights, including mental resilience, activity level and sleep quality
BHeart won the CES Innovation Award in the Sustainability category for its innovative energy-saving tech

BHeart – a health-tracking wrist wearable with an “endless” battery – was unveiled by Baracoda at CMS 2023. The screenless watch band has been designed to integrate with an existing timepiece or to be worn as a bracelet. It uses patent-pending BMotion energy harvesting technology, which charges from motion, body heat and environmental light, so no batteries or charging hardware are required.

According to the company, “when you are active, you are not just energising your body and mind, you are also energising BHeart” and the “more active you are, the more data you get”. These innovative sustainability features won BHeart a CES Innovation Award in the sustainability category.

Baracoda's AIoT platform transforms incoming data from health sensors into insights about the user’s health status, mental resilience, activity level, body energy and sleep quality. An app presents the data to the user along with personalised health advice that includes correlations between behaviour and the health impact.

As well as providing sustainable health tracking to everyday life, BHeart has also been designed to target those who aren’t already using a fitness tracking watch, who might prefer a more subtle and accessible device.

“The first health trackers were important for establishing that wearable technology can encourage healthier lifestyles, but we must reach more than athletes to improve public health," said Thomas Serval, CEO of Baracoda. "People of all ages and fitness levels need easier ways to track their health, so we must design products that fit into everyone's lifestyles, including people who don't find today's technology accessible or easy to maintain.”

According to Baracoda, the BHeart is compatible with standard watches with a lug width of 18-22mm and is available in silver, dark silver or gold. It will go on sale in April 2023 for US$100. The app will be available at the Apple store in April 2023 and via Google Play in June 2023.
