A strategic alliance has been announced between music services provider, Feed Media Group and digital fitness agency Sweatworks.

Feed Media offers a music integration service utilising proprietary APIs (www.feed.fm) to ensure music is cleared for usage and artists receive payment. Its music partners include Warner Music Group, BMG and Merlin.

“APIs empower us to automate data-driven tasks, to provide a whole class of services that solve a major stack of headaches related to music, including, ingesting, streaming, and compensating rightsholders,” said Eric Lambrecht, CTO and co-founder. “We do the work to simplify it for everyone else.”

Lambrecht says the new arrangement will enable Feed Media clients who are developing apps through Sweatworks’ integrations to benefit from this work at no extra cost.

Although the companies have joined forces before on various projects, this is the first time they've come together in an official partnership.

The two have previously collaborated on a project at home workout business, City Row, where Sweatworks was brought in to create a tablet for its rowing machine. They also teamed up to improve the user experience on digital classes platform Openfit, strength product Clmbr and digital fitness trainer Hygear.

“We know workouts that include music drive a more enriching and engaging experience,” said Sweatworks founder and CEO, Mohammed Iqbal. "That’s why formalising our collaboration with Feed Media Group is so important to us as we build the digital fitness apps and hardware for the future for our clients.”

“Sweatworks has consistently delivered forward-thinking, innovative digital and physical fitness products, which integrate with Feed Media Group’s music services and technology,” said Jeff Yasuda, CEO of Feed Media Group. “We are honoured to partner to create the future of connected fitness experiences.”

The company has connections with the gym sector via an investmentby Nautilus in feed.fm.
