Wattbike’s mission is to make Wattbike the ultimate training partner for improving health and performance. That’s why Wattbike is chosen by the world’s top sporting teams, elite athletes, coaches, plus thousands of health clubs and fitness centres across the globe.
No other indoor trainer measures every pedal stroke and revolution more precisely, giving riders instant insights to get the most from their workouts, testing, rehabilitation programmes and more. Wattbike was born more than 20 years ago with one goal – to create the ultimate indoor training bike and unlock new levels of performance.
The first Wattbike launched in 2008, in partnership with British Cycling. That same year, Team GB won 60 per cent of the cycling gold medals at the Beijing Olympics.
Constant innovation in technology and design has led to Wattbike being the gold standard for indoor training, used by elite and amateur athletes alike in the pursuit of improved performance.
Product range and services
Wattbikes give members access to powerful and unique fitness and performance insights that no other gym e quipment can give, from accurate power data to pedal technique tracking and left vs right power balance. It is the ultimate training and fitness testing tool.
Following on from the launch of two new consumer bikes in 2024, this year, Wattbike has launched the Wattbike Air-Pro, marking a pivotal step in the evolution of commercial indoor bikes. Building on the iconic Wattbike Pro/ Trainer, the Air-Pro incorporates upgraded magnetic resistance, advanced internal electronics and a new Performance Touchscreen.
Benchmarking and testing is an essential part of delivering effective member training experiences. Testing allows members to measure their fitness, provide motivation and personalise workouts for their fitness level. With unrivalled, independently verified accuracy, repeatability and ease of use, Wattbikes have built-in testing protocols that allow for a variety of tests from peak power to endurance-based FTP testing.
One of the most frequently used tests is the Health Assessment Submax Test, which gives users their Cardiorespiratory Fitness (CRF) score. This CRF score provides a predicted VO2max to highlight current health and fitness benchmarks. The score allows members to assess their fitness compared to their age and gender peer groups, adding a layer of motivation
A TRAILBLAZER IN UAE FITNESS
With a dedication to provide next-level member experiences, embracing each individual’s fitness stories and providing a comprehensive array of sports and leisure activities to cater each and every individual, of all ages and abilities, Wellfits’ large venues facilitate free access to top trainers, technology to monitor, track and measure performance whilst ensuring there is never the frustration of having to wait for available machines or spots in its signature classes.
BEST IN CLASS EXPERIENCE AND EQUIPMENT
Joining the rapidly expanding portfolio of sites, its new flagship club, Wellfit Madar, sets a new standard for fitness and wellness in Aljada, Sharjah. Madar incorporates an impressive 65,000 sq ft training space and boasts state-of-the-art equipment including Wattbike Pros.
On the decision to partner with Wattbike, Gareth Jones, COO Wellfit explains: “As a keen cyclist myself, and Dubai being a very proactive place with a buzz of triathlon clubs, cycle tracks and a passion for the sport of cycling, I was keen to get performance bikes on our gym floor.”
”Wattbikes are simply the best.” Gareth Jones, COO, Wellfit.
“Wattbikes are simply the best. There’s a reason they are the bike of choice for so many top athletes and professional teams and for us, the fact that they are durable and powerless means they can be easily moved around our athletics performance training area where we have created an area for all powerless and functional equipment, allowing the members complete flexibility over how they train.”
PARTNERING FOR THE FUTURE
Rapidly establishing itself as the UAE’s premier fitness and wellness brand, when it opened, Wellfit Madar became the brands third large-scale hub, following two already existing vast health clubs in Dubai, Wellfit JVC (Jumeirah Village Circle which spans 75,000 st ft as well as Wellfit Meydan which is 50,000 sq ft.
Looking ahead to the future, Wellfit hopes to continue its partnership with Wattbike across its other clubs. “Wattbike is the perfect fit for our offering. The plan is to implement them into more of our clubs.” Jones continues. “For example, we have a 65,000 sq ft club right by an outdoor cycling track that covers 8km. We already have a triathlon club based there so in the future, I can already see how having the Wattbikes could support the club and aim to get both amateurs and professional cyclists into the facility.
PROMOTING ACTIVE LIVING FOR ALL
Wellfits mission is to enable healthy and active lifestyles for all by providing a hub which offers an extensive support system that not only motivates people to live healthier lives, but also supports them along this journey.
“We run around 300 classes per week, from HIIT, martial arts and Yoga, through to Spin or even Lifting classes for kids. We truly do pride ourselves on offering something for everyone and believe that training with like minded people will encourage people to come back from more, time and time again, building that real community spirit.
“We ensure we have something within our facilities for everyone, aiming to get all of our members living a more active lifestyle.” Jones concludes. “Our proposition is to provide the very best equipment in order to offer leading member experiences, all within a world-class environment. This ethos is woven into the very design of each of our clubs, and into every equipment decision we so carefully make.”

Founded in 2016, and run by practitioners with a specialisation in sports-specific exercise, this premier facility warmly welcomes elite athletes from across the globe. It redefines the concept of warm-weather, off-season training, and rehabilitation, setting new standards in the industry.
WARM WEATHER TRAINING CONCEPT
Jordan Demetriou, Head of Performance at Mykonos Performance explains; “My professional journey began in the UK, specialising in elite football as a Sports Physiotherapist, Rehabilitation and Performance coach. The vision of establishing a warm-weather training concept has long been an aspiration, driven by the increasing demand among elite athletes to optimise performance year-round, including during the off-season.
“I envisioned that this location would provide an ideal blend of a vacation setting for athletes, while also allowing them to focus wholeheartedly on their training requirements, whether performance-driven or rehabilitation-focused. The rapid growth of Mykonos Performance has turned it into a globally recognized concept for off-season training. During each summer season, we consistently host 90-100 athletes, marking a testament to the success and appeal of our unique approach.”
Building on the success of the initial launch, Mykonos Performance expanded its offering to include a wellness boutique hotel, Charisma, within the same complex. This evolution aims to provide a comprehensive 360-degree experience for not only elite athletes but also for fitness enthusiasts. While there is increased traffic of elite athletes from May to July during the offseason, the resort has now become a sought-after destination for a diverse range of individuals, including creatives, wellness enthusiasts, and holidaymakers throughout the entire summer season.
“NOTHING COMES CLOSE TO THE WATTBIKE…”
Mykonos Performance purpose-built gym boasts state-of-the-art training facilities equipped with a diverse range of leading fitness equipment, featuring a mix of Wattbike Pros, Trainers, and Nucleus. As Jordan explains, "Having extensive experience with Wattbike in the elite sports sector, I can confidently say that nothing rivals Wattbike in terms of accurate testing, immediate feedback, comfort, durability, and the authentic feel of a real ride. It stands out as an exceptionally impressive training tool and is essential to our training approach. “Nothing comes close to Wattbike when it comes to accurate testing, immediate feedback, comfort, durability and the real-ride feel.”
- Jordan Demetriou, Head of Performance, Mykonos Performance
“The Wattbike proves immensely beneficial for athletes, particularly in rehabilitation or off-feet conditioning. It allows athletes to minimise leg impact while still focusing on enhancing their cardiovascular ability.”
HIGH PROFILE ATHLETES
Having worked extensively within elite sports, the team has cultivated trust among visiting athletes and their teams. This trust has resulted in ongoing business opportunities driven by the powerful word-of-mouth referrals within the extensive network of elite sports.
Mykonos Performance has been the choice of elite athletes from some of the world's most prominent teams. Notable individuals who have used the facilities include Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich, as well as NBA Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler. Additionally, we've had the privilege of welcoming Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid and Manchester City players Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku.
“In particular, Manuel Neuer left a lasting impression with his remarkable performance on the Wattbike," Demetriou remembers. "He engaged in lengthy, challenging Wattbike sessions lasting 35-40 minutes, all the while maintaining a perfect 50/50 distribution across his right and left leg output. It's an extraordinary feat; I've witnessed individuals sustain this balance for perhaps a minute, but never over an extended session!”
PERSONALISATION IN PROGRAMMING
Mykonos Performance takes pride in avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. The success of its methodology lies in comprehending the unique physiological needs of each athlete in advance and tailoring a personalized program specifically crafted to suit the individual.
The team envisions expanding the Mykonos Performance and Charisma Wellness Resort model to additional locations, including residential areas. This expansion aims to offer a more frequent opportunity for clients to use the facilities regularly, providing an accessible and consistent experience.

Wattbike launches new AtomX - putting Healthspan and user experience front and centre
Originally launched in 2020, the new AtomX introduces Wattbike Healthspan, a user-friendly and consumer-focused health score and VO2 Max test, made easily accessible with the addition of an integrated touchscreen.
Wattbike, the pioneering indoor cycling brand trusted across elite sport, health clubs and performance environments worldwide, today announces the launch of the new Wattbike AtomX, the latest evolution of its commercial smart bike. The new AtomX integrates HealthSpan VO2 Max testing and tailored ergo-mode workouts via the Wattbike Performance Touchscreen 2 (PTS2), delivering a more connected and measurable training experience for operators and users alike.
The AtomX led in defining the commercial smart bike category due to its +/-1% accuracy and ease of use with ergo mode. It has been established as a testing, training and rehab tool at leading universities, sport science labs, healthcare operators and health clubs, including Third Space, The Altitude Centre, Gymbox, Fitness First, Hong Kong Sports Institute, and Anytime Fitness Japan. The new AtomX builds on this foundation with a focused, customer insight-driven upgrade designed to better meet the expectations of today’s connected gyms and increasingly data-driven users.
At the heart of the new AtomX is the integration of PTS2, Wattbike’s next-generation touchscreen display that’s already proven on the 2025 Wattbike Air-Pro and delivers a faster, clearer and more intuitive user experience, alongside engineering refinements to enhance durability in high-usage commercial environments.
It is packed with fitness assessments including the HealthSpan VO2 Max Test, 6-Second Peak Power, 30-Second Test and FTP, along with structured ergo-mode workouts with automatic resistance changes and a time and distance interval builder. The new AtomX enables everyone to benchmark their fitness and performance to ensure they can train to hit their goals, with the precise, authentic ride feel Wattbike is famous for.
With Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity, the Performance Touchscreen can be connected to phones and tablets to unlock hundreds of workouts via the subscription-free Wattbike Hub app or linked to other apps such as Zwift, Rouvy, Apple Health and even Peloton to enable riders to train their way.
Complementing the upgraded touchscreen, the new AtomX also benefits from subtle but impactful design refinements. Darker, black-finished legs and updated detailing give the AtomX a sharper, sleeker look, creating a more premium aesthetic that sits naturally within modern environments.
Commenting on the launch, Stephen Loftus, CEO, Wattbike, said: “AtomX has already proven its success across a broad range of commercial environments. With this latest evolution, the new touchscreen makes the user experience even more intuitive, giving easier access to workouts and our new Healthspan test, including VO2 Max testing, while helping operators broaden appeal and increase engagement.”.
The new AtomX will be launched at FIBO 2026, with deliveries following in May and June for UK and global customers.

Hybrid Racer and Wattbike join forces to power hybrid racing performance
Hybrid racing is brutal. Athletes must combine endurance running with functional strength under extreme fatigue, all while managing training load, protecting joints and building aerobic capacity across a demanding race season.
To help solve these challenges, Wattbike has announced a new performance partnership with Hybrid Racer, uniting precision indoor cycling technology with elite hybrid racing coaching to support athletes preparing for one of the fastest-growing disciplines in fitness.
Through the partnership, Wattbike users will gain access to the Hybrid Racer Training Programme via the Wattbike Hub App, an 8-week structured plan designed by leading coaches in the hybrid racing space. The programme is built to improve aerobic capacity, sharpen pacing strategy and prepare athletes for race day through two targeted Wattbike sessions per week alongside performance testing, including a benchmark 6-minute average watts test.
A core focus of the programme is off-feet aerobic development. By using the Wattbike to build endurance without repetitive running impact, athletes can develop powerful aerobic capacity while managing fatigue and reducing stress on joints, supporting long-term durability across a full racing season.
This approach reflects Wattbike’s Start Strong, Stay Strong philosophy: helping athletes train smarter by balancing performance gains with sustainable conditioning, underpinned by Wattbike’s industry-leading accuracy and precision measurement.
Beyond the structured programme, Hybrid Racer brings a holistic coaching system focused on clarity, confidence and race readiness. Athletes benefit from intelligent pacing strategies, adaptable training pathways aligned to the racing calendar, and access to an online community offering ongoing education, challenges and coaching support.
Chris and Gus, co-founders at Hybrid Racer, said: “Hybrid racing places huge demands on the body - it’s relentless, and getting the balance right between engine, strength and recovery is critical. We’ve used Wattbike extensively in our own training and coaching to build aerobic capacity without breaking athletes down. This partnership allows us to bring that same proven approach to racers everywhere, giving them smarter structure, clearer feedback and the confidence to show up on race day ready to perform.”
Stephen Loftus, CEO at Wattbike added: “Hybrid athletes need more than hard sessions, they need intelligent training that protects durability while building real performance. By combining Wattbike’s precision data with Hybrid Racer’s expert coaching framework, we’re helping athletes develop endurance, manage fatigue and prepare for competition in a way that supports long-term progress, not burnout.”
This partnership brings together cutting-edge indoor cycling technology and expert hybrid racing coaching to support athletes at every stage of their journey, from building aerobic foundations to sharpening race-day performance.
Launched on 31st January 2026, the Hybrid Racer Training Programme is now available exclusively via the Wattbike Hub App.

Performance to healthspan: Wattbike integral to Third Space Performance Lab
Unveiled as part of Third Space Mayfair’s expansion, The Performance Lab represents a bold step forward in how members can measure, understand and improve their performance. Once considered the domain of elite athletes, performance testing is now being made accessible to all members helping them to unlock their potential and optimise not only performance, but longevity.
The Lab offers science-led assessments including movement screening, force plate analysis, grip strength, sweat analysis and VO₂ max testing. At the centre of this offering is the Wattbike AtomX. Any Wattbike alone can provide an accurate VO₂ score from the Wattbike Healthspan Check but once connected to the VO₂ master device at Third Space, it is able to provide more in-depth VO₂ max data. Thanks to its unique ERG mode, the Wattbike automatically adjusts resistance to keep power output consistent, giving members precise, reliable data to shape their training.
“Performance benchmarking used to be something only elite athletes had access to,” said Tim Hart, Head of Performance and Lab Supervisor at Third Space. “Now, as the awareness of VO₂ max testing has become more mainstream, there’s been a growing appetite for it. Thanks to the Wattbike and our wider testing protocols, every member can access tangible data to understand where they are today and what they need to work on to reach their personal best in the form of a varied, very personalised workout.”
Third Space’s mission is to deliver “training for life”, empowering members with the tools and data they need to perform at their best at every stage of life. With many members already using wearables, the Performance Lab takes personalisation further by offering tailored training zones and highly specific insights into endurance, strength and recovery.
By harnessing Wattbike’s unrivalled accuracy in VO₂ max and performance testing, members can track not only improvements in fitness but also indicators of long-term health. VO₂ max is one of the strongest predictors of healthspan, the number of healthy, active years a person can expect to live, meaning the insights gained in The Performance Lab go beyond performance, helping members make data-driven decisions to improve wellbeing and longevity.
“The Lab is for everyone. Everyone has a goal, whether it’s performance, rehabilitation or simply longevity,” added Hart. “That aligns perfectly with Third Space’s philosophy. Together, we’re helping members make informed choices that will benefit not just their training, but their long-term health and wellbeing.”
Tom Crampton, Head of Brand and Partnerships at Wattbike, said: “Third Space has consistently set the standard for luxury fitness and the Performance Lab is another bold step forward. We’re proud that Wattbike technology is at the heart of this innovation, ensuring every member has access to the same world-class data and accuracy trusted by elite athletes worldwide, not only to elevate their performance, but to help them add more healthy, high-quality years to their lives.”

Everlast and Wattbike set the testing benchmark at first Hyrox Performance Centre
At the core of this partnership is Everlast’s ‘Move Advanced’ programme, which integrates Wattbike’s unrivalled accuracy in health and performance testing. New members will use the Wattbikes as part of their onboarding journey, undergoing a Wattbike ‘Healthspan Score’ assessment to benchmark cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF), VO₂ max, heart rate and power zones.
The Healthspan Score is a key predictor of long-term health, reflecting how well the heart, lungs and muscles work during exercise, with improvements in this score offering strong protective benefits and improving longevity.
The collaboration marks the beginning of a national rollout across Everlast’s Performance Centres, a bold initiative in partnership with Hyrox to transform training experiences across the UK.
As part of the installation, Wattbike worked with Everlast to deliver bespoke branding, including custom Everlast decals on the bikes and a striking branded wall installation, creating a visually impactful training environment that brings performance to life.
This science-led testing provides each member with a personalised baseline, which can be repeated at key stages of their training journey. By tracking tangible data, members can not only see progress but also take accountability for their training, health and longevity.
In addition to onboarding, the Wattbike’s 6-second peak power test provides members with a safe and accurate measure of strength and power development without risk of injury.
Martyn Oakey, Head of Fitness at Everlast Gyms, explains: “Our mission is to bring world-class testing and data-led insights to everyone, not just elite athletes. Wattbike enables us to do exactly that. By integrating their technology into our HYROX Performance Centres, we’re giving members the tools to measure, understand and improve not just performance, but health and longevity.”
Luke Veebel, Sales Manager Key Accounts UK South at Wattbike, adds: “Everlast is redefining what mainstream fitness looks like with these Centres and we’re proud that Wattbike is central to this offering. Our accuracy and testing protocols are trusted by elite athletes worldwide and now, Everlast members can access that same level of insight to make real, lasting progress.”

Katalyst Performance levels up youth athlete development with new Wattbike installation
Katalyst Performance, Sydney, Australia’s pioneering athlete development hub, has taken a significant step forward in youth athlete preparation by installing five new Wattbike Pro/Trainer indoor bikes at its new high-performance facility. This investment reflects Katalyst’s mission to bridge the gap between grassroots sport and elite-level performance for the next generation of athletes.
Founded by high-performance coach Mick Stierli, Katalyst Performance was built on the belief that access to professional-grade coaching, technology and recovery systems shouldn't be reserved for elite athletes alone. Its brand-new facility was designed to mirror the standards of professional sports organisations with structured programming, expert coaching, cutting-edge equipment, and now, the industry-leading Wattbike.
“This new space is about giving young athletes the environment and tools they need to train, recover and grow like professionals,” Stierli explains. “With the new Wattbikes, we’re enhancing our ability to benchmark performance, assist with rehabilitation and deliver targeted, sport-specific training protocols.”
Wattbike’s reputation for reliability, accuracy and repeatable data made it the obvious choice for Katalyst. More than just a conditioning tool, the Wattbike is now central to Katalyst’s performance monitoring and athlete development system.
“At Katalyst, we combine science with sweat,” says Stierli. “We train smart, not just hard. Wattbike helps us optimise training by delivering real-time data that informs our programming. It’s critical for both off-feet conditioning and understanding how each athlete responds to load.”
The Wattbike provides a low-impact option to safely build fitness and resilience. This is particularly important for managing high training volumes or assisting athletes in the rehabilitation phase without unnecessary joint stress.
The new installation aligns perfectly with Katalyst’s long-term athlete development model, supporting athletes as they prepare for the physical and mental demands of higher-level competition.
“In the off-season, the Wattbike allows us to build the engine without wearing down the chassis,” says Stierli. “When our athletes return to competition, they’re not just fitter, they’re fresher, more robust and readier to handle the demands of elite training and gameplay.”
Speaking on the new partnership, Rachell Crewe, International Business Development Manager at Wattbike, commented: “We’re thrilled to support Katalyst Performance's mission to deliver elite-level training to the next generation of athletes. It’s inspiring to see the Wattbikes being used to shape stronger, smarter and more resilient athletes from the ground up.”
As with elite sporting organisations worldwide, Wattbike continues to be the training tool of choice for those who refuse to compromise on preparation and precision. This installation at Katalyst Performance is another step toward shaping a new standard in youth athletic development.

Wattbike launches its 'Healthspan Score': longevity meets simplicity
Wattbike, the pioneering indoor-cycling brand trusted by elite athletes and health-conscious consumers alike, today unveils the Healthspan Score, an intuitive, science-backed metric that turns complex cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) data into a single, easy-to-understand number. By reframing “CRF” as a Healthspan Score, Wattbike makes it simpler for everyone to see how fit they really are, and how many healthy, high-quality years they could add to their life.
The ‘Healthspan Score’ is widely recognised as one of the strongest predictors of long-term health and longevity, reflecting how efficiently the heart, lungs and muscles work together during exercise. Studies consistently show that a low score is linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and all-cause mortality, while improvements deliver powerful protective benefits. Improving your ‘score’, you can make significant improvements in healthy lifespan, as well as reducing the risk of age-related decline.
Now live on the Wattbike Performance Touchscreen 2 (PTS2) and recently showcased in the networking area at Elevate 2025 with live demonstrations, the Healthspan check and score feature will roll out to the free Wattbike Hub app in the very near future, giving home users and club members the same clear benchmarking and progress tracking used by professionals.
A Healthspan Score can be established in as little as six minutes by riding the Healthspan Check workout. Because the assessment is sub-maximal and fully guided on the bike’s console, staff and users require no training to complete it and users never need to push to exhaustion, a perfect tool for onboarding new members.
Eddie Fletcher, Lead Sport Scientist, Wattbike explains: “Data only makes a difference when it drives action. And it only leads to action when people understand it. The Healthspan Score packages decades of exercise science into a simple number that speaks to everyone, motivating new members and elite athletes alike.
It helps people understand not just how fit they are, but what that means for their long-term health. Because it’s grounded in validated VO₂ max science and easy to use without specialist input, it’s a trusted tool for operators and a motivational milestone for users. This isn’t just training for performance, this is training to live better, longer.”
For operators, independents and personal trainers, the Healthspan Score unlocks a new, measurable way to engage members, drive revenue and boost retention. Users can benchmark with the score, trainers can create personalised programmes and clubs can show science-backed results that demonstrate a proven boost in member longevity.
Sam Theyers, Commercial Sales Director, Wattbike adds: “The fitness industry is evolving, and longevity is the new frontier. With the Healthspan Score, we’re giving our partners, from boutique studios to large gym chains, a powerful way to deliver what people truly want: more healthy years of life. And yet, it’s more than a life-changing benchmark; it’s also a business tool that drives retention, adds value to memberships and helps clubs prove they’re improving lives in a measurable, science-backed way.”
