The world’s first awareness ring has been launched. Designed to promote presence, focus and calm via gentle haptic vibrations, the Pulse Mindfulness Ring is a screen-free alternative to meditation apps.
Pulse vibrates several times a day – the amount depends on the user’s choice – inviting them to take a 10-second micro-pause to either breathe deeply, practise a moment of gratitude or simply shift out of autopilot.
The vibrations are purely for awareness; it doesn’t track any data. There are four main modes – mindfulness, focus, meditation and Pulse Journeys, which are week-long guided programmes from self-development experts with custom vibration patterns.
Founder Johan Matton says: “Humanity built technology to connect, yet in the process, we’ve never been more disconnected from ourselves. The average person touches their phone thousands of times per day, driven by invisible algorithms that steal attention and fragment peace of mind. I want to introduce a new kind of technology: one designed not to take attention, but to give it back.
“The Mindfulness Ring is not another screen or tracker. It is an intervention tool — a tactile bridge between technology and presence. With silent vibrations, it gently guides the user back to awareness. A soft pulse reminds you to breathe, focus or feel gratitude.”
Micro-pauses are proven to lower stress hormones, increase focus and reset the autonomic nervous system. Vibration feedback, when used with intention, can act as a somatic anchor – a signal to return attention to the body and the present moment. Over time, this rewires the brain for calm, regulation and clarity.
“Most technology monetises attention,” says Matton. “This redefines it as sacred. I believe that the next frontier of technology is not artificial intelligence – it is conscious intelligence: a future where devices support our mental wellbeing rather than exploit it.”
Matton told HCM: “There are hundreds of meta-studies on mindfulness pauses and how metacognition and conditioning work. Everyone who uses meditation apps or practises yoga knows that coming back to the breath 10 times a day and taking these micro-pauses of stillness creates so much calm and presence in people’s lives.”
