Anytime Fitness reveals new app which delivers personalised fitness journeys inside and outside the club

Fitness franchise Anytime Fitness has launched a new app, offering members personalised coaching
The new AF SmartCoaching tech captures member activity and performance inside and outside Anytime clubs
Data and predictive analytics from the app can then be used by Anytime Fitness coaches to produce personalised health and fitness plans
Members can also use the app to schedule fitness consultations, sessions for personal or group training and chat with a coach

Fitness franchise operator Anytime Fitness has launched a new app, offering members 24/7 engagement with their fitness inside and outside the club, as well as personalised coaching they can access anywhere.

The new, data-driven AF SmartCoaching app is able to capture member activity and performance everywhere.

Data and predictive analytics from the app can then be used by Anytime Fitness coaches to produce personalised health and fitness plans for each member.

Members can then access the customised plans – which include training programmes, nutritional advice, recovery tips and general guidance – through the app.

The tech also incorporate the use of a body composition scanner, which is used to measure progress.

In addition, members can use the app to schedule fitness consultations, sessions for personal or group training and chat with a coach through text and video calls.

Anytime Fitness coaches can also access the member's data and track progress in real-time, while offering motivational support and answers via written responses and short video demonstrations to important questions.

Non-members can access select app features, but coaching services within the app are for members only.

Chuck Runyon, CEO and co-founder, Self Esteem Brands – that owns Anytime Fitness – said: "As part of Anytime Fitness's evolution, we want to make your health and fitness goals more easily achievable – both inside and outside the four walls of an Anytime Fitness club.

"Accessibility has been at the core of our brand since the beginning and we're now doing our part to ensure members, as well as non-member Anytime Fitness App users, can access our brand at their fingertips.

"The launch of AF SmartCoaching technology and app, but it's so much more than that.

"We're evolving from a brand that offers 24/7 access to one that provides 24/7 personalised coaching support, as well as access to more than 5,100 clubs globally. It's an exciting time for Anytime Fitness and we believe our continued brand evolution will help improve the self-esteem of the world."

Speaking earlier at the EHFF conference in Cologne on 12 April, Runyon had outlined how the app is part of a new initiative by Anytime Fitness to raise the next generation with higher levels of body intelligence, saying: "People don't understand the basis of how their body works and how it needs to move and how it needs to be fed.

"It's very difficult to live in an unhealthy world without understanding body intelligence and we need to modernise the way we do this."
