German fitness tech and equipment firm eGym has launched a new Corona Gym Solution, bringing together a number of resources aimed at helping health clubs to re-open their doors as lockdown measures are eased.
The new service has been designed to bring together a range of services that will help operators meet the new regulations and cater for the increased safety and hygiene needs of members – as well as take into consideration the business interests of operators.
The components within the service will range from hygiene features – such as reminder and feedback functions – and the ability to book training slots for optimal space planning to new exercise programmes, specifically designed to provide members with an immunity boost.
The system also takes local regulations into account – such as the disinfection of all equipment after each use. Solutions for this include the intervals in circuit training programming being automatically increased by ten seconds, to allow sufficient time for cleaning.
In addition, the displays of eGym machines – as well as the Branded Member App – will automatically and regularly remind members to comply with the hygiene regulations.
"The aim of our Corona Gym Solution is to quickly restore the studios to full functionality," eGym said in a statement.
"While fitness facilities around the globe are gradually resuming operations, the world has, however, changed fundamentally in recent weeks in the wake of the Corona pandemic.
"Therefore, gyms need to adapt their processes and routines in order to remain successful in the 'new normality'.
"The Corona Gym Solution provides an easy-to-use mobile platform that enhances the gym with a free digital offer during the reopening phase.
"In combination with the Member App, operators will also be able to support their members outside the studio and provide access to virtual workouts to further promote involvement within the fitness studio community."
