English countryside retreat Ardencote Hotel in Warwickshire has announced the completion of its £1.5m (US$1.7m, €1.7m) spa redevelopment project.

Located in the four-star hotel’s former Victorian Coach House, the refreshed Spa at Ardencote has been redesigned to combine tradition with contemporary design. Ardencote managing director Dale Huckerby worked alongside Curveline Design to execute the new interior design vision for the facility.

The updated 500sqm spa – with eight treatment rooms and a capacity for 60 guests – sits apart from the independently-owned 110-key hotel and has its own courtyard extension of 40 bedrooms.

Following the updates, the spa’s outdoor experiences include a heated swimming pool, hot tub and Tyrolean kilo sauna. All are set within a spacious courtyard where guests can relax, surrounded by country garden plants selected to capture the essence of the spa’s rural location.

Inside, there’s a large thermal suite comprising a Himalayan salt sauna, aromatherapy steamroom, tepidarium, ice fountain, experience shower and foot spa. Guests can also recline pre- and post-treatment in the spa’s Relaxation Lounge – complete with cosy spa pods – or the Tranquillity Lounge.

The Spa at Ardencote’s new treatment menu features signature treatments including the Ardencote Country Wellbeing Ritual (£120, US$139, €138), as well as classic face and body treatments provided by Elemis. The offering is completed with a range of nail and pedicure treatments provided by OPI.

Additional spa partners include robe and towel supplier Johnsons Stalbridge, spa and salon uniform manufacturer Buttercups, Austrian-based wellness design and equipment manufacturer Schletterer Consult and spa and leisure business management system provider Premier Software.

Holly Glynn, spa manager, said: “It’s been wonderful to welcome new and old guests through the doors of our newly-renovated spa.

“The development has allowed us to capture our spa audience and provide them with an oasis of calm. We’ve received fantastic feedback so far and look forward to further developments to meet our spa guest’s needs.”
